2010 CJP Convention
Dates: September 1st - 4th, 2010
![]() |
The second annual Citation Jet Pilots Convention coincides with the Labor Day weekend between September 1st - 4th, 2010. You owe it to yourself to attend and take advantage of all the programs that have been tailored especially for Citation pilots, this year located at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. The Broadmoor is the longest-running winner of both the AAA Five- Diamond and Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star awards. The Colorado Springs resort is located on 3,000 plush acres under the shadow of Cheyenne Mountain and offers an award-winning spa, fitness center, two swimming pools, three outdoor hot tubs, one lap pool, 54 holes of championship golf and six tennis courts.
CJP will present three days of dynamic academic sessions customized for the Citation Jet aircraft. We have brought in an amazing group of A-list speakers you will not want to miss. The subjects will range from Erik Elliel's full Radar and Weather avoidance seminar (a course that would typically cost as much as your complete registration fee), Citation market review, a Citation safety review, jet insurance market update, and much more. We also expect a number of vendor displays and of course our social events will be one of the highlights of the gathering. The event's "Keynote speaker" will be Jack Pelton, Cessna's Chief Executive Officer. In addition, featured speakers will be industry leaders Ed Bolen of NBAA and Craig Fuller of AOPA.
Attendance of academic portion of the CJP Convention qualifies attendees for unique insurance renewal bonuses or credits. Participating underwriters recognize this program and offer owners a credit for as much as ten percent of the hull premium after a claim-free year. These insurance savings and added safety awareness are compelling reasons to attend the CJP annual Convention!

For our Companions, in addition to a pre-Convention tour on Wednesday, a Broadmoor Historical tour on Thursday and a Companion's tour on Friday, this year for the first time we will offer ground and in-flight "pinch hitter" training! Cyrus Sigari of JetAVIVA has agreed to conduct ground and flight training sessions customized for non-pilot Citation "Companions" whose goal is landing the plane in an emergency. No prior flight training experience is required. Many of the best CJ1-3 and Mustang instructors in the U.S. will be available to facilitate practice flight sessions. These activities are designed to enable companions to be more comfortable in the flying environment.
Arrivals will be on Wednesday, September 1st (or Tuesday, August 31st if you plan to attend the Pre-Convention tour or the Altitude Chamber Hypoxia Training session). We will be flying into the Colorado Springs airport (KCOS).
CJP will provide transportation from the Colorado Jet Center to the Broadmoor on Tuesday and Wednesday (from 11:00am to 7:00pm) for arrivals, and on Sunday (from 6:30am to 12:00pm) between the Broadmoor and the Colorado Jet Center for departures. If you are arriving or departing at any other times, you are responsible for your own transportation.
We are delighted to announce that representatives of Garmin and Pratt and Whitney Canada will hold a special technical sessions for Mustang owners, and Rockwell Collins and Williams International will present sessions on Proline and Williams Engine issues. In addition, ISS will present their glass panel upgrade solution for 500 series Citation owners.
