by CJP Chair R. Blake Curd, M.D.

Greetings and salutations to you all as the first quarter of 2025 draws to a close. I hope that you have all been able to make tremendous use of your aircraft over the last several months and it has continued to be the time machine that we have all become accustomed to. As we transition from winter into spring, thoughts of thunderstorms and inclement weather certainly begin to populate our preflight planning stages!
Your organization has been very busy the first quarter of 2025. We have taken many steps to improve overall organizational efficiency, reliability, and accountability. Many of these changes will not be palpable or visible, but have occurred and will continue to occur behind the scenes. I want to thank Rob Balzano for leading this effort as it positions your organization in better standing, not only now but for the future.
I wanted to take a minute and thank Cheryl Hardy for her many years of dedication and service to Citation Jet Pilots. Many of you have known Cheryl for a long time, and the services she provided through her company, Cheryl Hardy, LLC, have helped a lot of us along the way as we have worked to grow the association. She has made many contributions over the years that have made a difference to our Citation Jet community. We wish Cheryl well on her next journey!
I’m also pleased to welcome Vera Millovich, who will now be the happy voice on the other end of the line many times when you ring up CJP. Rob has already introduced you to Vera on the website so there is no need to duplicate that here! Please give her a ring and say hello!
In his note, Rob covers many of the things that CJP and its members have had the opportunity to participate in so far this year. He also mentions what’s coming up on our calendar and I hope to see many of you at these events! Please take advantage of the many offerings CJP has in store for you. I am especially looking forward to the wine country event in the very near future – Be sure to sign up now!
It may seem like a long time from now, but our annual convention is coming up faster than any of us would like to admit. We are already busy putting together to the program and format for San Antonio, TX in September. We are going to change things up and, before long, I hope to be able to announce a special guest for the social part of the program. Please mark your calendars now and plan to attend, as I am sure this will be another convention that you will not want to miss out on.

Charlie Precourt and the CJP Safety and Education Foundation continue to work hard on your behalf. We are seeing the fruit of the labor of our safety effort and are hopeful to be able to announce some significant developments there in the very near future thank you to Charlie and all the members of the safety foundation of made this effort, sustainable, and possible.
CJP and its team standby to assist you with anything that may come up with your aircraft or aviation in general. Please contact any of us when the need arises and we will try to do our best to render aid assistance and advice.
I hope that you always find tailwinds in your flights!
