Nearly fifty CJP members gathered at the acclaimed St. Regis Resort in Deer Valley, UT for four days of comradery, safety content, Platinum partner updates and, of course, world class skiing!

Members were treated to great safety presentations by Charlie Precourt that included: Deice and Anti-Ice procedures, Safe to Land(R) Review, hands on flight planning and runway analysis with ForeFlight, CJP Inflight Guide review, Visual Approaches, CJP TOLD Card Review and an update on CJP Safety & Education Foundation initiatives.

Rob Balzano provided a presentation on Visual and Auditory Illusions in Aviation. Our Platinum Partners also provided industry updates. Here’s a summary of our partner updates:
Textron Aviation Update
- GAMA’s 2024 results were recently released, and Textron Aviation was proud to continue to lead in business jet deliveries. The company also has many products that will achieve certification and EIS this year, include some Citations
- Textron Aviation has also enhanced many of our legendary aircraft in recent years, including the high wing Cessna piston aircraft, the Cessna Caravan, the Beechcraft King Air and the Cessna SkyCourier
- Last year, the newly-enhanced piston line (Cessna 172, 182, 206 and Turbo 206) entered into service. This year also marks the 70th anniversary of the first flight for the Cessna 172 Skyhawk, the most delivered aircraft in history with over 44,000 deliveries
- Introduced the new King Air “Crimson Edition” in 2024, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the product line
- Model 208B Caravan cockpit enhancements will be available this year. Upgrades include a brighter, modernized flight deck with new backlit panels, along with other amenities designed to elevate the pilot experience. The company is celebrating this year the 40th anniversary of the first Caravan delivery
- The Model 408 SkyCourier is now available in three configurations: passenger, freighter and combi configurations. Celebrated first delivery into Canada, orders from around the world
- Textron Aviation continues to make great progress in the Denali certification program. The aircraft has completed over 1,100 flights and over 2,700 flight hours.
Changes to the Citation lineup include:
- M2 Gen2 autothrottles (2025) to enhance ease of flying and reduce workload for pilots, allowing them to focus less on engine management and more on other aspects of flying to improve precision, efficiency and safety
- CJ3 Gen2 (2025) – The latest Garmin G3000 software and hardware, including autothrottle technology and EVS offering improved clarity and optimized situational awareness. The Gen2 also adds 4.5 inches of legroom in the cockpit for the pilot, and a new interior features an externally-serviceable lavatory
- Citation Ascend features state-of-the-art Garmin G5000 avionics and a new luxury interior with a flat floor. Textron Aviation recently added the second test article (P1) to the program, with its first flight powered entirely by sustainable aviation fuel (SAF.) To date, the prototype has accumulated 170 flights over nearly 480 flight hours, while P1 has performed 18 flights over approximately 65 flight hours.
- Latitude Avionics Update brings new features and technology to the best-selling Latitude, including Synthetic Vision Guidance System + Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) to support approach minima as low as 150 ft. 3D view of the SafeTaxi® airport environment aids situational awareness while taxiing, while GDL60 Datalink offers new connectivity options, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and LTE networks and enables automatic wireless database downloads while the aircraft is powered off.
At NBAA, Textron Aviation announced three new aircraft in our great Citation lineup, the next generation of light jets – the Cessna Citation M2 Gen3, CJ3 Gen3 and CJ4 Gen3. In addition to the revolutionary Garmin Emergency Autoland technology to be used in all three new aircraft, the Citation CJ4 Gen3 features new, next-generation Garmin G3000 PRIME avionics for intuitive, seamless control for pilots.
Currently under development, the CJ4 Gen3 is expected to enter into service in 2026, with the M2 Gen3 and CJ3 Gen3 following in 2027.

Collins Aerospace Update
- As recently announced, Collins is bringing upgrades throughout 2025 to the Pro Line 21 equipped Citation fleets (XLS, CJ1+, CJ2+, CJ3, & CJ4), including operator requested features such as CPDLC, Privacy ICAO Address, AirSync enabling FOQA, and ADS-B In Weather.
- Collins provided an overview of the four Connected Flight Deck product innovations being completed in the next year. By bringing this functionality, Pro Line 21 and Pro Line Fusion Citations will see an increase in tablet integration with the flight deck, thereby enhancing operational capability and safety though various pilot tool applications. This includes AirSync integration with additional data flows bring enhanced data offloads for CJ1+, CJ2+, & CJ3 Pro Line Fusion equipped aircraft.
- The Collins Connect App is now available for IOS devices on the Apple App Store. This application paired with a USB drive provides Citation operators a path to perform navigation database updates directly from an iPad or iPhone, thereby shortening this routine task.
- Collins previewed their Virtual Reality (VR) training system that is currently under development. This system has the potential to be used for Collins Citation flight deck familiarization and avionics procedure training, increasing the effectiveness of initial and recurrent full motion simulation training.
