Five CJP Platinum Partners offered updates on their companies and offerings for the Citation community throughout the 2025 CJP Convention.
Garmin
Phil Straub, executive vice president, managing director for Garmin Aviation, highlighted the company’s G3000 Prime avionics system on the forthcoming Citation CJ4 Gen3, as well as simplified weather information via SmartCharts and new approach procedures to certain airports, such as Scottsdale (SDL.) “We’ll hopefully have Canada and Mexico here within the next six months or so,” he added. ‘We’ll continue to add content, particularly things like the airport diagrams. There’s so much wealth of information there.”

Straub also noted Garmin’s top finish in Aviation International News‘ annual avionics survey for the 22nd year. “We are humbled and privileged to be rated number one again,” he said. “The one [area] which we’re most proud of is product reliability, because it’s a testament to the entire organization: how we design the product, how we manufacture it, how we make sure it works in the environments you operate in.”
FlightSafety International
FlightSafety CEO Brian Moore led off his presentation with some good news for CJP members who’ve encountered delays and difficulties with scheduling training. On hiring new examiners, “we’ve turned the corner on that,” he said. “We’ve been extremely successful this year, and as of right now we’re actually ahead of our hiring plan for 2025. That’s going in the right direction [and] will start producing here very quickly.”
Moore also detailed changes with the scheduling process, with calls routed to regional centers instead of specific locations. “In the past, you’d call the specific location [and often need to] leave a voicemail and wait to get a call back,” he said. “We realized that was a huge pain point [so] we’ve changed that whole format. When you call, you’re gonna get live personnel right away.”
“We’re trying to make it easier for you,” Moore added. “If you want to do everything for the GSSA with us, or schedule the training scenarios that Charlie [Precourt] and Dave [Morisey] are developing toward the end of this year [or] first part of next year.”
David Penney, vice president for courseware safety and regulatory affairs, discussed expanded use of progressive checks across the training curriculum, noting the alpha test phase program on another jet type was set to be submitted to the FAA that day. FlightSafety plans to host a webinar detailing
“our schedulers and sales teams will start reaching out to you to make sure that the dates and everything are lined up,” he said. “We expect to be able to maintain all of our current dates and stuff along the way, so we don’t expect to have to move dates again. As we get through our alpha and beta test, we may need to make a few minor adjustments, but right now, we expect to be able to maintain everything as a schedule.”
Class A Aviation Insurance
The newest CJP Platinum Partner is making waves throughout the owner pilot community with their data-driven underwriting approach to the aviation sector that emphasizes contextual risk assessment, as well as the potential for “enhanced coverage” to CJP Gold Standard Safety Award recipients.

“How can an insurance company know whether I’m lucky or safe [as a pilot] just based on numbers in a PDF document?” asked Mark Haidar, company founder and CEO. “There is really no science; most aviation insurance companies are underwriting based on a PDF document and a prayer, hoping for the best.”
The solution, Haidar continued, is to leverage flight data already available from efforts like CJP’s own flight operations quality assurance program (CJP-FOQA℠) to identify owners and pilots committed to safe operations. “I mean, the data is there,” he said. “I’m very proud of this team we built that that really understands deviation and technology.”
Chief Technology Officer Shayne O’Sullivan emphasized that lowering rates will require a team effort, with Class A offering bursary for CJP members to participate in CJP-FOQA℠ to increase the amount of data available.
“We want your feedback,” he added. “We’ll look at the data together. This is never punitive; we want to partner with you as your insurer to make sure you’re operating well. It benefits us both.”
Collins Aerospace
Next, Steve Adolphs, director of aftermarket programs for Collins Aerospace, discussed the development of their Pro Line avionics systems and pilot advocacy initiatives, including the recent formation of the Collins subcommittee and ongoing collaboration with the association on safety enhancements and data collection.
“We’re approaching 10,000 aircraft across these three generations of Pro Line systems just in the bizav segment,” he noted. “That’s 11% growth year over year [and] Textron is more than half of our active bizav fleet. That’s why our partnership with CJP is so important to us.”
A large portion of those Textron aircraft are Citation jets, he added, with more than 2000 aircraft in active service. “We’ve stepped up our involvement and our focus with CJP,” he continued. “We will meet regularly with Citation members to hear what’s on your mind and share with you the solutions that are coming out so you know what’s going on.”
That also includes rollout of new flight data monitoring (FDM) solutions for Collins-equipped Citations. “Collaboration on Safe to Land® is key to improving safety and informing the insurance market,” Adolphs added. “We’re eager to work with CJP to get those solutions bolted on your aircraft to gather that data, so it’ll be available for you for reasons such as that.”
Tamarack Aerospace
Speaking of technology, Tamarack Aerospace President Jacob Klinginsmith updated attendees on the company’s partnership with ForeFlight to provide updated flight planning and performance data for aircraft equipped with active winglets. Currently available for CJ2s, updates will soon roll out for CJ1, M2 and CJ3-series planes.

“This has been a very exciting process for us,” he said. “We worked with ForeFlight early on to get the flight planning data out there when wings were certified. But now, with 200 aircraft in the fleet and a couple hundred thousand flight hours, it’s time to offer a refresh on that. What we’re seeing is that those updates are pretty significant.”
Klinginsmith also detailed a special offer from Tamarack, offering complimentary equipment installation and subscriptions with AirSync and CloudAhoy to new customers equipping their aircraft with winglets, in support of CJP’s safety programs. “We believe so much in the mission of CJP, the safety and the work that is being done in CJP-FOQA℠ that we want to help folks get involved with that,” he added.
