Summer is in full swing, and I hope that you’ve been able to use your Citation to take advantage of the season and its beautiful venues. Let me update you on the latest from CJP:
The CJP Board of Directors Executive Committee has partnered with McDermott + Bull, a leading aviation talent search and recruitment firm, in identifying candidates for the CJP CEO position. David Miller has been appointed Interim CEO while we conduct the search for a permanent CEO. We’ll keep members appraised of our progress as the process evolves.
Interaction
We are less than two months away from the opening of the 2023 annual convention in Nashville. The Interaction Committee, Alberts Team, ShowTec, CJP Staff and other contributors are busy finalizing arrangements for what promises to be a spectacular event! Registration for the convention and hotel are open through the CJP website.
The CJP Safety and Education Foundation event at the National Air and Space Museum is scheduled for September 19-22. This amazing event features dinner under the wings of the Space Shuttle, a guided tour by Charlie Precourt, and a tour of Mt Vernon. There are a few spots left, and I encourage you to sign up before we reach capacity.
The Mackinac Island Regional was a resounding success with 45 registered attendees. Members enjoyed the beautiful setting and fun activities which the island offers, as well as attending educational seminars. These regional events are a great opportunity to reconnect with CJP friends in a wonderful setting.
Safety
The CJP Foundation and Safety Committee continue to develop ongoing programs, including FOQA, Safe to Land, and What Good Looks Like videos. We look forward to recognizing this year’s Gold Standard matriculants in Nashville.
We’ve all been faced with the challenge of obtaining training and recurrency slots at the Training Centers. CJP had been working with training providers to accelerate the availability of training opportunities. Please plan ahead and book your training as early as possible.

The M&M Committee and Staff have been working on several new member benefits, which are in the process of being rolled out:

Although summer is in full swing, it’s important to consider and prepare for what’s coming next: the fall and winter flying season and its associated challenges. Make sure that your aircraft, and you, are prepared for the challenges of winter flying, including low ceilings, icing and contaminated aircraft surfaces and runways.
